Premier plans Commissioning & Start-up for Natuna Subsea Tiebacks for 2019

Premier Oil expects to start development drilling early next year on the Bison, Iguana, and Gajah Puteri (BIGP) gas fields in the Natuna Sea offshore Indonesia.

The company awarded an EPCI contract for BIGP in block A – involving subsea tiebacks to existing infrastructure – last October, and anticipates first gas during 2H 2019.

Elsewhere in block A, Premier is reprocessing 3D seismic over the Anoa field to enhance seismic imaging across the Lama play area in order to identify and mature various leads and prospects.

At the nearby Chim Sáo field complex in Vietnamese waters, the company completed drilling of two low-cost infill wells in December, lifting production by 3,300 boe/d.

The first was a side track of a water injector well that was no longer required and was therefore re-completed as a producer, while the second was drilled from the final unused slot on the Chim Sáo wellhead platform.

Premier says it has drawn from experience in previous drilling campaigns to improve reservoir performance, with some additional zones still to be perforated. So, there is potential for adding further drilling/incremental production later this year.
